Centering
Border widths are measured on both faces and both axes. The closer the artwork sits to true center, the higher the score.
The Card Genius standard
The same AI scores specific measures on every card, the same way every time. No mood, no fatigue, no favorites.

Height, width and cut are measured against the card’s specification. A card that has been trimmed does not measure up.
All eight corners are read for rounding, fraying and whitening. One soft corner is enough to be found and recorded.
The full perimeter is scanned, front and back, for whitening, chips and rough cuts.
Scratches, print lines, dents and stains are read straight on and under raking light, where surface wear gives itself away.
Fading, toning, staining and print registration are compared with how the card left the press.
The scale
Scores run from 1.0 to 10.0 in tenths, so a card that is nearly a 9.5 is not called a 9.
A scale that moves in half points gives two different cards the same number. Measurement can tell them apart, so the score does.
Centering and size, corners and edges, surface and coloring each earn a score. The Card Genius Score™ is drawn from all three, and the report shows every one.
The registry will count how many copies of a card hold each score, and how many sit higher. A finer scale makes that count mean more.
How a grade is made
All of them have to be true before a grade carries our name.
The card is confirmed as genuine before it is measured. A card that cannot be verified is not graded.
The AI reads the photographs and scores each measure to a tenth of a point.
Every finding is pinned to the photograph it came from, so anyone can check it.
A person reviews the findings before a grade is issued.
Card Genius is in preview. The scale, its thresholds and its repeatability at a tenth of a point are still being calibrated, and no grade is issued until they are. The measures can grow; every report names the ones it scored. The authenticity process is being built and tested for the pilot.

Four aspects of condition. A considered assessment.
A record that shows what shaped it.
The balance of the printed image within the card’s borders.
The shape, definition and visible wear at every corner.
The condition of the perimeter, including whitening and chips.
The face and back, examined for visible wear and marks.
Method in development. The example scores show the intended report design; grading thresholds and repeatability are still being validated. Authentication is a separate future service.
